Go get ‘em Papa John. According to the article “…The first hearing in the case is scheduled at 9 a.m. June 27 in Department 33 of Sacramento Superior Court.” Why do I have a feeling that some Hicks, Gholson, and Raymond, and Stone women may be in attendance?! Erik and I will be waiting in the wings with bail money

I’m still a bit nervous about Indiana and North Carolina tomorrow…it’s just way too close in the polls.
Ol’ Rev. Wright and his continued remarks aren’t helping the cause either.
First and foremost, it is my Mom’s birthday…yea Mom !! She’s got Olive Garden on the mind so I think that’s where Dad is committed to going.
I’m also meeting up with some buddies in Vegas tonight for a guys weekend. It’s been a while since I’ve gone out with some buddies and hung out for an extended period of time so this should be fun.
I will be taking plenty of incriminating pictures throughout the weekend (hopefully I don’t end up in any of them or end up hanging out with the LVPD – that would be all sorts of bad.
You’ll notice that there are now Amazon ads on this site. I’ll be expanding GREATLY on this and customizing the selection to be more in line with our items of interest, styles, etc.
I’ve actually registered as an Amazon “affiliate” so when you click-through and actually buy something from Amazon…the Hicks House get’s a piece of that. So HAPPY SHOPPING !!

Jen heads out to Minneapolis tomorrow morning for a whole week. I’m sure she’ll be working hard; in between hanging with the classic 80’s group Soul Asylum, hanging out at Prince’s Paisley Park Studios, and visiting with Tash and Toby.
Watch out Mongolian BBQ here we come.
P.S. I’m not completely sure on the Paisley Park part. I’d actually probably be admittedly jealous if she had that kinda hook up.
So I’ve made it a week at my new gig. I haven’t broken anything or had to yell at anyone (like that ever happens…)
I’ve met most of the key folks that I’ll be dealing with so that’s a good thing. Everything is still as it was presented to me during the interview phase so that’s an even better thing.
Since I sit about 10 feet outside of the doors of all the execs I don’t think I’ll be doing alot of napping.
More later – I’m going down to the breakroom for some more of the Friday free donuts.
So it’s the end of Jen and the kids Spring vacation and the weekend before I start my new job.
We’re spending some quality time together and with the Sharp’s at their cabin by Donner Lake.
We’ve done some sledding had a few snowball fights and of course eaten everything in sight.
The only unfortunate thing is that we all brought our Wii consoles to play some games but somebody forgot to bring the controllers…Mike
So here I sit at my desk at HP for probably the last time.
It’s been about 10 years total that I’ve been associated with this company so this transition is somewhat bittersweet.
I’ve done everything from unix system admin, project/program management, QA engineering and IT consulting here. It’s been a pretty good ride for the most part (except when I got laid off a few years ago, but I won’t go into that right now…)
Starting Monday I embark on a new journey as a Solutions Engineer at Raging Wire Enterprise Solutions. This will put me back in the middle of everything for sure. No more lunch time trips back home to play Wii and watch Judge Joe Brown. But, that’s good. I like the hustle of being in front of customers, driving towards a solution that works and working more with a team, instead of just by myself in a cubicle.
So, wish me luck, keep me and my family in your prayers. This could either be the worst or one of the best career decisions I’ve made, but I’m comfortable with the decision and look forward to the new challenge.
